While we don’t have any confirmable details yet, we have received a tip that high level talks are going on at Cisco over the companies IOS which is the core operating system in all of its switching gear. The word from our insider is that the Board of Directors has been very disappointed with the quality of the conversion of IOS to consumer networking product line of its LinkSys division. While this may be too good to be true, our contact is saying that the top choice for a replacement OS amongst a majority of board members if DOS 6.22. We’ll just have to wait to see, but if true this could be the basis of a revolution in switching gear.
